The Fall of Atari
Atari started the home video game, quickly becoming the fastest growing company in American history. In the last six months of 1982, however, it all fell apart even faster than it started. Here’s why...

I found this show through TiVo, but they stopped at the Sega DreamCast episode. Why is that?
I'm still waiting, salivating for more episodes. I don't post online, usually (neither do many of my friends my age - we're not accustomed to doing things that way), but I really love this show and wanted to let y'all know.

For some reason On Networks seems to be dragging their feet when it comes to re-upping Play Value.
We all are chomping at the bit for new episodes. We are having great discussions about the show on the forums.
The fans need to once again show On Networks how much we want Play Value to be brought back. We can do this by sending POLITELY worded comments to On Networks expressing our desire to see them renew the show.
Please send them your POLITE comments via their contact page:

Thank you for your support for Play Value. We all love this show. As the show creator knows, new episodes will be forthcoming when sponsorship is attached. ON wants more episodes as much as Play Value's loyal viewers. The show creator has known this for a very long time and might have forgotten to include the information in his posts.
Actually, the director has mentioned this.
As the show creator knows, things are moving as fast as they can. We know that Play Value has a loyal and vast audience. Thank you for your interest. We love Play Value too!
Thanks for your reply here...
We just want to see more episodes of the program seeing that it's been several months and the fans have just been left hanging with no official word as to what's going on.
David Crane has a psycho face... Anyway, what about Raiders of the Lost Ark? Did that game made Atari look bad?
I found out about your show through itunes and love it. I like all the commentators and every topic so far. So much better than a lot of the stuff on TV. Keep the great stuff coming.

Thanks, guys!
Please make these shows longer if you can D:
hey jester why are u never on
The shows are all 8 minutes in length, but we just made out first 10 minute episode last week. If people like it, we'll be exploring making the shows longer in the future. I'd perfer to make them longer, as well.
That's cool! Good Luck!
It's kinda ironic to an extent that the same thing is happening with the Wii at the moment, for every Mario Galaxy, theres a ton of shovelware crap from other publishers trying to jump on the minigame bandwagon.
But a common misconception is it was only Atari US that imploded in the gaming crash, Atari Europe was still chugging along rather comfortably putting out arcade games as while the VCS died, they could fall back onto other systems that were emerging like the ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, Commodore 64 and the Amstrad CPC. Kinda what Sega did years later.

GericVas: Yeah, I wanted to get into the whole drug culture of Atari more. LIke how there were heroin needles on the floor of the restroom there and all sorts of crazy stuff. And also how that influenced the games they made, and, by extension, influenced even modern games. But I ran out of time! - Jeremiah Black, director, Play Value.
Lmao!!...good stuff i'm not even gonna critique this one...all i have to say is i was impressed you talked about activision but i was more surprised you didn't say the stoner quality that it portrayed then is still being portrayed now in games like tony hawk...anyway good work...i just wanna know why jeff is wearing the same clothes in this video...and shandi is of course hot..thank you once again
I never register for anything.
I registered for this.
I registered, just to say "I LOVE THIS SHOW!"
Damn, I like these shows.
