Office Romance

To date or not to date in the office, that is the question in this week's episode of On Dating. Host and dating expert Andrea interviews two people with different views on the subject. While the office can be an easy place to meet someone that shares the same interests (or the same complaints) as you, is it worth the awkwardness you might experience after a break-up?

Hi Andrea
I was writing a note to you and i change the article you was on and lost the first part but anyway i am 66 years young and i was married for 42 years and recently lost my wife and i was wondering just how long do you think is proper before you start dating again. You have to remember i am not a spring chicken but would like to have a companion in my life as home is just to quiet in the house alone

Thanks
Gene

I BELIEVE YOU CAN DATE IN OFFICE, BECAUSE WHEN YOU COME ACROSS ONE WHOM YOU LOVE, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHERE YOU FIND HER, SINCE YOU LOVE HIM OR HER, THE NLY CHOICE IS TO PROPOSE OR DECLARE YOUR LOVE, EITHER IN OFFICE, WORK PLACES, IN THE CHURCH, OR IN THE OFFICE,ONE HAS THE WRITE TO DECLARE HIS OR LOVE WHEN THE TIME COMES.

I WANT TO COMMENT FERVENTLY ON YOUR PROGRAM, TO DATE OR NOT TO DATE

I've been in this situation and i'm still trying to get over the bitter experiences I had while the relationship lasted. We just broke up in November last year which was the same month he got a permanent job in my company.Although, we met in my office in January 2007 when he a contract staff in the IT department of the comapany. My hopes were that things would get better between us as soon as we start working together but how shocked I was, when he decided to break up with me for no reasons. My advice is that, people should not date anybody in his/her office!

I’ve been in this situation and it was crazy, very time we had a difference in opinion at work or if my director likes my idea better. She goes crazy and starts telling my patients that she could not believe how I was acting

i've been in this situation and it was fun but sometimes you need some downtime and it's pretty much impossible when you work together.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with office dating. It is ashamed since other avenues such as clubs are so horrendous.

It's interesting to hear both persepctives by two people who have dated office mates. Personally, I think it's acceptable to date someone in your office considering you keep things quiet and are able to deal with a potential break-up in a mature manner.

Good debate as both sides made valid points. I think it is worth the risk if you feel strongly that this is could be the person for you!

I think dating in the office is okay if you think you'll marry the person. Otherwise, I agree with the guest who says you should think of the worst-case scenario.
