Episode “Fairway metal”

Joe Beck: Joe Beck here, I am going to show you how to hit a fairway metal. Here is what I find that is most problematic with the amateur golfer. Typically the amateur is always trying to lift the ball up in the air, hit the ball up in the air. So when I watch them hit these fairway metals incorrectly, they set up on it, the balls a little bit too much more in the center of there stance.
Next thing I know they take it back and there back here like this. And they are trying to help it up in the air, that’s not going to work. You have got to be able to set up on it to where the ball is more forward in your stance. And then you are going to make your nice full swing. And with that swing your going to want to take just a little bit of a nick, little bit of a nick divot. That’s the most important part of this swing, let me show you.
That’s what I am talking about.

Key points:
1. Hit down on ball
2. Ball forward in stance
3. Full swing
4. Take small divot
