Talent: Brian Apthorp - Comic Book Artist
Brian Apthorp Bio:
Born Richard Brian Apthorp in Hollywood, California in 1955, to a pediatrician and a model/ actress/ homemaker, Brian grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He graduated from California State University, Northridge as an Art major.
Brian was given the opportunity for his first published comic book art while working for comics legend Neal Adams' Continuity Studios in Burbank. He has gone on to do work for DC Comics, Vertigo, Marvel U.K., and Dark Horse Comics.
He has taught at Laguna College of Art and Design, Otis Art Institute, UCLA extension, Art Center College of Design, and The Learning Tree, been a guest artist several times at the Ryman Program at USC, and given an Artist's Point of View talk at the J. Paul Getty Museum.
He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Lori, and is associate producer/ interviewer for the podcast "For Art's Sake".
