Leigh: Welcome to Feng Shui your Way, I am your host Leigh Kubin and today we will be feng Shuing a operatory in a dental office so lets go see how we can help. Ivan this is the operatory in your dental office. What are your goals for Feng shuing this space?
Well we are hoping to achieve a more relaxing atmosphere for our patients when they come to see us because usually dental visits are no calm experience for some people.
Leigh: The first place we are going to start today is in your journey area. Since this is your business it is a little different. It is sill about your path, but you are a health care provider. So we want to take into account that you want to educate. You want to give them care but you also want them relaxed.
Ivan: Right.
Leigh: So let’s find something in his space that represents water. That will activate the journey area of this room.
Ivan: Ok.
Leigh: Well next we want to move into the family and ancestry area. And in a home that would mean your family of origin. But here in a dental office, we want to think about where you gained your knowledge from, what you have to share. So we can maybe put your degrees up, things were you are recognized in that spot.
Ivan: That makes sense.
Leigh: So next we are going to move into the wealth area. And in this area I would like to see maybe some of your rewards, since we can’t hang them in your fame and reputation area because it is a window. Let’s put that there because that is directly related to our wealth. And I would also like to see a plant there ,that has the upward moving energy representing growth, opportunities, things coming up for you.
Ivan: Great.
Leigh: So now we are going to move into the fame and reputation area. This would normally be the place you want to put awards, things you want to be known for. But you have a window so we don’t have many options. But what I am thinking is that maybe we can find a red window treatment to hang.
Ivan: That sounds great.
Leigh: We won’t block the view just something to activate the sector. Now we are going to be moving into the relationship area. And in a business it is really about all the people that work together, getting along, watching each others back, kind of a unit, unified team effort. So pictures of the whole practice would be great to put here. Pictures of people together, representing unity would be good here. So just get creative and find something fun.
Ivan: Sounds great, I think I have something in mind.
Leigh: Well now we are moving into the creativity area of the bagua. Typically it is about children, but here it is going to be about relaxing having fun, not taking yourself too seriously, but being organized in the process. What we want to look for in this space is maybe some artwork that represents children having fun or just being relaxed. Do you have something in mind?
Ivan: I do. I think I have something perfect for that.
Leigh: Perfect. Well now we are going to move into the helpful people area of the bagua, and that is really about you having patients that have a great experience here. That want to go tell their friends that they need to come here. It is about repeat business, and it is about calling your helpful people to help you in your business. So here we would find a piece of art that represents a multitude of people.
Well Ivan, my favorite thing about this room is that in the very center of the room you have this chair, which is on the base of a circle. So it really creates a balance to the room and your patients get to sit here, so they get to feel balanced when they sit here.
Ivan: And that is exactly what we are going for.
Leigh: Perfect. Well Ivan are you ready to get to work to get this room feng shui?
Ivan: I am. I am really excited.
Leigh: Well let’s get to work.
Ivan: Alright.
Leigh: Since Ivan educates her patients, she chose a picture of a teacher educating a student for her wisdom area. She also went with a book shelf, with educational material for her patients to read while they are in her care. She has hung her credentials on the wall in her ancestry area, showing where she received her knowledge from. In her wealth area she went with a plant representing growth and opportunity, and went with a balance in the fame and reputation area, activating that sector with the color red.
She found a picture representing unity for her relationship area of the bagua. And for her helpful people and travel she chose this picture because it represents all o the people coming into the practice everyday. Ivan chose this water feature to help activate the journey area to help her patients relax while they are in her care.
Ivan you did a great job in this room.
Ivan: Thanks well I couldn’t have done it without you. I love everything in here.
Leigh: How does it feel to you?
Ivan: It feels great and I know my patients are going to feel it too.
Leigh: Oh, I think they are going to relax, I think they are going to feel comforted and at home with you. And I think you just did a great job.
Ivan: Great you know I especially love this picture here. I love how it adds to the wall here. This was really an empty space before and I never really noticed it until we hung this picture ere.
Leigh: And it is a great representation of your helpful people. So it will bring in the helpful people.
Ivan: That’s what we want.
