Leigh Kubin: Welcome to Feng Shui Your Way I am your host Leigh Kubin. Do you ever feel like there is never enough, never enough time money or energy? That means your wealth area is not activated and I am gong to show you how to do it.
We are at WET Salon with Co owner Eric Massey, Eric tell me what are your goals in Feng Shuing your space today?
Eric Massey: We would really like to increase the money flow is you will into the salon. I think our salon has been busy but there is a lot we can do to be a lot busier. We have got some new stylist and we would like to increase the flow of money, if you would. And we really want to focus on increasing profitability. Because while we are kind of busy, it just seems like we need to make a little bit more money so we can do some of the things we would like to do.
Leigh Kubin: You feel like there is never enough?
Eric Massey: Absolutely.
Leigh Kubin: Well it sounds like the energy pattern you are talking about is a wealth area that is missing. So is this a perfect square or a rectangle.
Eric Massey: It is a perfect rectangle yes.
Leigh Kubin: Ok so your wealth area is intact.
Eric Massey: Yes.
Leigh Kubin: Well we will take a look and see if their might be an element in there that is causing this pattern for you.
Eric Massey: That would be great.
Leigh Kubin: Before we go check on your wealth area I would like to tell you what a great job you did in the helpful people area of the salon. You are supporting local artist and local people, which is in turn allowing them to support you, so how did you know to place this here.
Eric Massey: Well we did apply a few of the Feng Shui principles to the salon when we designed it and we knew that was the helpful people area. We wanted to come up with a very simple way of helping people in the community creating a sense of community for the salon and our area and do it very inexpensively. So we actually just used a piece of fencing and hung it and people bring by their cards and information about fairs and just anything to communicate to the community.
Leigh Kubin: That is a great tip for other people that want to activate this sector.
Eric Massey: We thought so too.
Leigh Kubin: Eric we are in your wealth area and I think I have identified the problem, you have created a metal room and although it is beautiful, what happens is in a wood sector metal chops wood so I think our main objective is to get rid of the metal. I would really like to see us bring in some wood elements, some healthy trees. You can bring in wood elements in other ways by maybe making it a rainforest kind of a feel, or you can paint stripes. That is a representation of wood.
Eric Massey: Actually let me ask you this question, because we have kind of thought about adding some stripes in here but instead of doing just solid stripes what if we painted some squiggly lines or lines that might possibly represent bamboo. Where it is not real straight but they are subtle in the wall with possibly little bud or something like that. That is just subtle, it is not really obvious but you kind of feel it when you come in, what do you think of that?
Leigh Kubin: I love that idea because it is going to represent water, wood and growth with the buds, so I think that would be a perfect choice for this space. Let’s talk about some things which you have done well.
Eric Massey: So we didn’t actually do everything wrong?
Leigh Kubin: No, your ceiling is black or almost black and that represents water which means wood. Your seat cushions are black and the armrests are wooden so you have really done a good job with that aspect. Now with your sink chi energy flows down the drain and we do not want your money flowing down the drain. So what we are going to do is a fun technique called ceiling drains and we will do that on each of these sinks to represent money kind of staying in place.
Eric Massey: We want to make sure to get as much money in here as possible.
Leigh Kubin: One last thing I want to look at is your alone name WET in the window. I think that is a great idea but I think you can take it to a new level by incorporating WET into wealth.
Eric Massey: That is a great idea so what you are saying is putting the letters in the window like we have got WET but spell out wealth.
Leigh Kubin: But maybe have WET pop out of that. So then you see WET and from another level you see wealth.
Eric Massey: That is a great idea, yeah we kind of put those letters in the window with the frosted glass to create a subliminal message slightly but not really, where people walk in and they see WET and they just think about it all the time. But if we incorporate wealth into that it is even better. It is a great idea.
Leigh Kubin: Well all of you will se wealth every day when you walk in here and that will be on your mind. I think we have come up with some really creative ides so now is the time to pick out the paint and get to work. Are you ready?
Eric Massey: I am ready.
Leigh Kubin: Let’s go.
Eric this place looks great tell us what you did.
Eric Massey: Thank you, first we put cinnabar around the drains where the pipe comes from the floor and we used convex mirrors but I honestly don’t remember exactly why you told us to do that I just made sure we did it.
Leigh Kubin: Well energy flows down the drain, so we want to seal it, especially in the wealth area to keep it from leaving, think about your money going down the drain. Then the mirrors there to reflect everything back up, so it kind of sends it back to where it should be.
Eric Massey: That makes perfect sense.
Leigh Kubin: I love the window.
Oh thank you, we kind of played around with using WET and wealth in different ways and tried to mix up Eric Massey: the letters and things like that but it just didn’t seem to fit right so we kind of put WET and wealth together and the energy felt right with the way it is.
Leigh Kubin: It looks great and I am so excited to see what it creates for you coming in and seeing wealth every day as you work.
Eric Massey: Absolutely. We also added the plants and this energy in here has changed dramatically in the week or so that we have had these and it has been awesome, everybody has come in and commented and they love all the plants and I am already feeling the energy change.
Leigh Kubin: It was a shift walking in here and I think these plants are great; I love the vases that you chose for them.
Eric Massey: Thank you, thank you, and with the vertical lines that we put into the wall I used a dremel tool and we actually etched into the wall so we cut into the texture creating a recess if you will and I just painted that. So that way it was like the bamboo was actually in the wall.
Leigh Kubin: It was part of it.
Eric Massey: Exactly and it is just a small detail and not everybody notices it right away but when they do they go oh wow that is really cool. So they are actually feeling the energy of the difference without actually seeing it immediately.
Leigh Kubin: Right it was a great way to represent wood and that was so creative and I love that you chose that. The plants are perfect, the bamboo on the wall is perfect, the wealth in the window I love putting that in front of you everyday, you guys just did a wonderful job and I cannot wait to see what this going to create for you.
Eric Massey: Me too thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.
