Fung Shui your Way
Episode “Master bedroom; Calling all helpful people”

Leigh: Welcome to Fung Shui your way. I am your host Leigh Kubin, and today we will be Fung Shuing a couple’s master bedroom. That falls in the journey area of the ba gua. So come on in and let’s get started.
Victoria: Ok Leigh, here is our master bedroom.
Leigh: This is a great room, you a have got a lot of space in here. This is your journey area, and this is a great room to have your bedroom in. Not many people have their bedroom in the journey area. But what the journey area represents is sort of your life path. And many people think that it’s your career and that’s true, but it is a little deeper than that. It’s about doing what you love.
I see a few problems. This bed over here is in a corner, which I know that you like the view of the door. But you are creating a triangle behind your head, and you really want a solid wall behind your head. And also the triangle represents the third side in the relationship. So it can show up as a job interfering, something else coming into the marriage that can cause problems and troubles between you.
So we want to straighten this out, and I recommend putting it on this wall, because if your bed is here you are going to get a command position of the room. So both of you will have a solid wall behind your head, you will have the view of the door. And you are out of the mouth of Chi. that will really help you sleep.
Only issue I see with the bed being here is that you got the slanted ceiling, and that puts pressure down on you when you sleep. That is the only issue of it being here, but there is really no alternative. You don’t want to put it back here because you don’t have the view of the door, and you’re not protecting your back. And here you got the windows, so really this is the best choice.
So what we will do is find a crystal to hang. And it will disperse the chi out instead of down on you guys. So you can hang that there. And when we put the bed here we want to make sure that we get two matching night stands. This is a common thing that people don’t understand. They need matching nightstands to kind of put them on equal footing. Sometimes single women will have a very nice nightstand and just a cardboard table on the other side. And they attract someone they have to take care of. So you really want something that is equal.
This is the journey area of the room. And the element for this journey would be water. And the color is black. Now that can create a little problem in the master bedroom because obviously you are not going to paint the room black. And you want to use black a little sparingly in here, because black encourages you to go inside for answers instead of looking to your partner to do things together. So a little bit of that is good, because we want to have that insight. But we do not want to neglect the partnership.
So let’s throw a little bit in here. I love the blue wall because that is a great representation of water. And then with the bed here your perspective of the day will be this picture. So let’s think of that as a journey, and what a great spot to put that journey picture, and to give you that perspective when you wake up.
And you have got this black bordering it, which is also water. So that works very well for you. You really picked a great spot to put this picture. So when you get your bed moved, you will have this perspective, everyday when you wake up. And both of you will come from it, so you will stay on your path together.
Are you open to maybe putting some fabric on the windows?
Victoria: Sure.
Leigh: What I m seeing is with the journey area you really don’t want to add a lot of earth. So if we were to put heavy drapes in here that would be earth. And that damns up the water, which is the element here. And that would create a block of opportunities and ideas that you would have.
Victoria: Oh no, we don’t want to do that.
Leigh: So my thought is to have some flowing type of curtains, just something simple and light to give you a little warmth in here.
The last thing I see in here is the bathroom. You have got a great bathroom, but you want to keep those doors shut at night. So you will be in the mouth if chi with them open. And plus all the energy from the bathroom, we want that to leave, not come in here when you sleep. So I would just shut these at night and I think you guys would sleep much better.
Victoria: Okay.
Leigh: So I think we are done in here, and we just need to get to work and get this place rearranged.
Well tell me what you think.
Victoria: I absolutely love the way this room looks.
Leigh: How does it feel?
Victoria: It feels wonderful, it feels like I would want to cuddle up on the bed and read a nice book.
Leigh: I love it; I think you did such a nice job. These pictures were such a great choice for you in this space. It is a great representation of water. Which you know is perfect for the journey area of the ba gua. And I think it will work very well for you.
I am so glad you took my advice and got two matching night stands. I think they are going to work so perfect for you here. And the photos of you and Kevin on them are so great to. You will get out of bed in the morning and think about all those fun times you had together. Tell me why you chose these curtains.
Victoria: Well Leigh, based on what you told me we needed for this room, I found thee flowing curtains as you described them. And they were blue like water, and they just made me feel good.
Leigh: I love them; I think it is an excellent choice. What a great spot for this bed, you guys have a solid wall behind your head, and a view of the door. And you are really having the common disposition in this room. So I think that you are going to sleep very well. Well tell me about this piece of art.
Victoria: This is something we bought in Paris last summer and it was form a street artist. And it has the water element that I knew I was supposed to incorporate. Plus it is very sentimental for us.
Leigh: I think it is a great a choice there. You have done a remarkable job in this room.
Victoria: Well thank you Leigh, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Leigh: Well I think you’re going to have fun on this new journey. And for Fung Shui your way I am Leigh Kubin and I will see you next time.
