You've made papa Hemingway proud with this one! This is was a Daiquiri should be! Also I think you need to check your facts fafner. Hemingway's father Clarence was a diabetic. Hemingway himself did not show signs of this tell later in life, but by then it really didn't matter.
Fafner: According to the Esquire Drink Book the Grapefruit juice is optional..but super thank you for the heads up...also I am not makiing the Hemingway Daiquiri, but rather the La Floridita, I was concerned about the authenticity of the recipe, but utimately the taste, with the sugar won out amng my Designated Drinkers...let me know if you have any other helpful comments and thank you for watching.
