As a grandmother, watching our children struggle with the money issue has been especially painful because we know that we did not train them while we were struggling with our own finances.
Doing it the hard way after they are adults is unfair and painful ! We should have let them see our problems AND how we solved them.
I would like to see this subject expanded on. There are too many dangers in today's world for parents to ignore. I hope that the parent code will add more advice to empower young families in their battle to protect themselves and their children.
Interesting advice! I especially like the "set aside a family play day" idea. And sending suggestions home further enhances the Parent/Teacher partnership in helping our children grow! After all, the school has our children 8 + hours 5 days a week. Parents reinforcing the good things our children are learning is so important!

Most parents are not willing to take the chance with those odds, and neither should Grandparents! One fact is that today's children are unable to take advantage of the great germy outdoors because of our legal system that continues to value a pediphile's rights more than the safety and rights of our children! Holy Cow! Did I do that to my children? The nice thing about being a Grammy is selective memory. And to think, as children,my brothers and I made MUD PIES! Possibly, we survived because we were able to build up an immunity to all the germs we were exposed to as children. The world is certainly more dangerous for children, now. So, I will be more cautious with my grandchildren from now on!
