Budget Health Nut - Stir Fry

Well thank all of you for your recent visit to the show! I appreciate your comments and support and, btw, you can click on *recipe* below to get a printable version of the show and even get transcripts...so you can send this magnificent dialog snail mail to a loved one who doesn't have the internet, or something.

As far as future productions...I think we're on hold right now, with the holidays and everything. We'll see if we can start some new recipes dished out for you sometime in the spring...

Thanks again!

Budget Health Nut - Beef Enchiladas
Hey Mickey! So glad you stopped by to visit and I'm very happy you're enjoying the recipes. Sorry it took me so long to get back with you. As far as the mixture goes, it is a store bought (jarred) item that is quite common in most "Mexican" aisles in the supermarket called "Recaito", made by the Goya family of products- it comes with or without Cilantro. It goes quite well with most anything, especially the beans... Also, for an added zesty spice, try a brand of spices called "Sazon", it helps create a more "authentic" Mexican dish...great for spicing up the meat. Of course, if you can't find it just grab some Cumin, some Garlic and Onion Powder and a little bit of Cayenne and Salt...and you're off and running! Thanks for the compliments and don't forget on that brisket to cook it under LOOOOWW heat for at least 3 hours, 4 - 5 if possible right around 275 - 300 degrees. I might have misspoke in the episode . Enjoy! Joe - "Culinary Cheapskate"
Budget Health Nut - Pork Chops

Hey guys...hope everyone's holidays were killer and I trust everyone gained their annual 10 pound "busta-gut". I do want to say the corn medley's "mystery ingredient" was a lesser known herb called "Chervil". I use it dried exclusively over parsley as it adds a nice Earthy flavor...especially with sauteed mushrooms, garlic and onion. I use it my sauces and everything...

Look it up, you'll especially like it sprinkled on some garlic bread...oh man, I think I just gained 3 pounds thinking about all that food...yummy!

Thanks,

Try This At Home - Wine
I just watched this episode and have the same coffee grider, so I had to try this and it actually worked really well. I'm really lazy, so I never clean the thing, but it only took a few seconds. Thanks for the tip, I would have never thought of it!
