<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Fantasy Football mock 2008 draft”

Cecil Lammey: It’s our final episode of the 2007 season, which means it is time to look forward to 2008.
Sigmund Bloom: Our mock first round is full of surprises and we’ll give you plenty to chew on during the off-season.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 minute drill quarterback by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Sigmund Bloom: The first overall draft pick of next year might seem like something to agonize over but the answer is easy same as it ever was, Ladaniel Tomlinson. He is truly a player were the number one draft pick because of his consistency, finishing in the top three for the last six years and durability missing only one game in his entire career. The only choice and number one is LT.
Cecil Lammey: Don’t be a hater just because Brian Westbrook laid down on the 1 yard line you have to consider taking him at the top of your fantasy draft. He is a great runner, a great receiver, and don’t worry about those injury concerns he is a gamer. Whether nine Donovan Mcnabb comes back for 2008 it does not matter, this offense runs through Brian Westbrook.
Sigmund Bloom: Three is the magic number in 2008 because if you’re picking third you’re guaranteed an uber stud in a running back. Now like me the owners in number one and number two will make your choice for you and I would get Adrian Peterson. Next year Adrian Peterson might be number one until he gets through a full season without injury he probably falls to number three.
Cecil Lammey: After the big three question are bound at fantasy running back, look at last year’s draft in the number 4 spot you would have taken Reggie Bush, Frank Gore, or Sean Alexander. But did not turn out very well for those guys now did it? There’s too much inconsistency and turn over in the top 10 at fantasy running back each year, that is why we say go with Tom Brady. Yeah, he may not throw 50 touchdowns in 2008 when he is good for 35 and 4000 yards they will carry your fantasy team each week.
Sigmund Bloom: I like my Crow deep fried with hushpuppies on the side please. Yes we were wrong about Joseph Addai; he has taken his rightful place among the top five players of all of fantasy football. We knew he was going to get touchdowns, but what we did not know that he was going to run tough and truly be a feature back in this league. Joseph Addai has gotten a lot of teams to the playoffs and it will happen again in 2008.
Cecil Lammey: This off-season the Rams will have plenty of time to address their needs of their offensive line. Steven Jackson has proven that when healthy he is an elite back in the NFL. You may not get 90 receptions every year but he is good for 50 and oh yeah every carry when he is able to suit up. The only back that breaks long runs more consistently Adrian Peterson and since he is going to go with Jackson.
If there was a draft of Internet providers you know that godaddy.com would be number one, they have.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 Minute Drill can get 10% off any order, just entered drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com.
Sigmund Bloom: No matter where you take Larry Johnson next year are going to get him at a value, I got him at number seven because players are only going to remember his end of season injury and not that he returned to stud status as soon as he got to the soft underbelly of his schedule. In the last three weeks of Larry Johnson’s season only Adrian Peterson outscored him so he is a value in the second half of first rounds.
Cecil Lammey: Fast Willie Parker has proven that he can lead the NFL in rushing even when things don’t go his way, now the law of averages dictate that his rushing touchdowns and long runs will go up, and that is why I love Willie with the number eight pick.
Sigmund Bloom: Sometimes you just have to ignore the situation and take the talent, and that is why I am taking Frank Gore at number nine. Frank Gore has overcome one of the worst passing games in the history of the NFL to be a solid running back in. Although it takes is a little improvement and he will be back to his top five status of 2006.
Cecil Lammey: Assuming that the Pats reup Randy Moss you have to consider him with a first round pick. He is having a record breaking season in O7 and he is the type of player that defenses cannot figure out. You double team him and he still makes the catch, and you certainly are not going to single cover him, and that is why they call him the freak.
Sigmund Bloom: A factor that I can get Clinton Portis a perennial top 10 running back at number 11 shows you just how deep running back is going to be next year. Clinton Portis dispelled two myths in 2007 one that he is not durable, and two that Liddell Bits was going to cut into his production. If you can get Clinton Portis at the end of your round in 2008 consider yourself lucky.
Cecil Lammey: With the final pick in the first round I have to take my boy Lendell White… Marshon Lynch, the bills are set at quarterback with Trent Edwards and Lee Evans will help keep the defenses honest.
So Diana how do you think we did it?
Diana: Well you know I love you dorks but a quarterback should never go in the top five and only a idiot would take anyone but Adrian Peterson number one, and where the hell is Willis Mcgahey? Oh and the Lendell White joke that did not work at all…

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Fantasy Football College Bowl Preview”

Cecil Lammey: If you’re still in the fantasy playoffs make sure to tune in your free podcast, the audible over at football guys.com where we break down all the week 15 match ups.
Sigmund Bloom: But this week on the 5 minute drill we are bringing you a bowl season viewing guide, so you can check the next crop the fantasy stars over the holidays.
Both: The drill.
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Sigmund Bloom: Let year we learned that you should never miss a Boise State bowl game but if that is not enough for you to tune into the Hawaii bowl, you need to see East Carolina running back Chris Johnson besides his sub 4-3 speed he is a triple threat as a runner, as a returner, and a receiver. So he could be the next Devon Hester.
Cecil Lammey: You usually don't think of UCF as a NFL Star factory but players like Dante Culpepper and Brandon Marshall have put that program on the map, there is another player from the university that you have to watch this bowl season, it is Kevin Smith and he has a chance to go berserker against the Mississippi State bulldogs. He's a powerful upright work horse who is only 180 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders seemingly untouchable single season rushing record, and he also break into the first round.
Sigmund Bloom: Cal might be playing the Air Force in the Armed forces bowl but the real air show will be that Golden Bear wide receivers, Deshaun Jackson and Libel Hawkins, both have the deep speed and ball tracking skills to score on any given play and they're both great threats as kick returns. Meanwhile we love Justin Forsett the Cal quarterback whose size might make you think of J.J. Harrington but his toughness will make you think of Marshaun Lynch.
Cecil Lammey: Your insight will serve you well if you tune in to watch Adarius Bowman, he is a huge target with outstanding hands and he is improving as a route runner he was only held back this year because of Oklahoma State’s poor quarterback play and that was not the only Cowboys offensive weapon. Like Justin Forsett Dantrell Savage is a little guy, but he had over 100 yards over every big 12 team that he faced. Now on the Indiana side there is James Hardy, a huge 6’7” wide receiver who will remind you of Harold Carmichael, he is a former college basketball player and working his way up to a possible first round pick.
I will definitely be setting my alarm clock so I can see Erik Ainges final game as a collegiate football player. Now this guy has the arm, the frame, and the athleticism to be a NFL quarterback but he has been inconsistent for his whole career despite having David Cutlet to coach that mold into the Manning Brothers. You all be anxious to see if he can finally get us a win against a tough Wisconsin secondary.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill about Godaddy .Com, they have.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 Minute Drill can get 10% off any order, just entered drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com.
John David Booty is a leader and a winner but we think he is more Chad Pennington than Carson Palmer. Now watch who protects Bootys backside, Sam Baker is a surefire first rounder who will improve the fantasy numbers of his teammates at the next level. On the Illinois side Rechard Mendehall coach is pleading with him to stay, which shows you how intent he is ongoing pro. He is not very shifty but he is a powerful north and south runner which reminds us of Ryan Grant.
Sigmund Bloom: Michigan and Florida are NFL factories but if you tune into the Capital One Bowl you'll see why Chad Henney should not pass quality control, we do think Mike Hart can make it in the NFL his footwork, toughness, in balance all make him the perfect fit for the one cut running scheme but it remains to be seen if he is the latest Michigan running back that will be used up before he gets to the pros.
Cecil Lammey: Jim Jones that even Heisman trophy winner Tim Tibo could not outrun the complex Hawaii offense. We will see how Colt Brennan fares against the type of tough SEC defense that Tibo has been dreading all year. Colt Brennan as anywhere from a first round to a third round grade and this game plus the NFL scouting combine will help decide where he falls in that spectrum. There are millions of dollars on the line for Brennan, talk about pressure.
Sigmund Bloom: The Fiesta Bowl should be one of the most entertaining bowels of the entire season but it is partially due to guys like Steve Slaten and Pat White, the West Virginia running attack that can score on any play but Oklahoma has the guy who should be number one wide receiver of this class. Michael Kelly has the up's, the hands, the size, and the speed to be dominate to the next level so watch him closely because he just might be your team's first round pick.
Cecil Lammey: This is not the show to debate which team deserves to be in the national championship, hell neither of these two teams deserve to be there but you have to watch because of LSU’s Erly Ducett he is personal and explosive and will be among one of the top receivers in this year's class. Also watch for future years because Healand Williams is a tough determine runner for the Bayou Bengals, and Chris Wells has enough power and speed to make me think that he is a poor man's Adrian Peterson.
Next week it is our final episode of the season and we're going to do a 2008 fantasy football mock draft, the first pick goes to, call it Bloom.
Sigmund Bloom: Heads, yes Ladanial peters…. Aw geez.
Off camera: Alright one more.
Sigmund Bloom: That one I should have said, alright I am going with David Peterson or Adrian Tomlinson.
Cecil Lammey: Who the f**k is that?

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 13 the final push”

Off camera guy: Standby.
Marker Girl: Yeah I went to Gwar last night.
Off camera guy: Camera Rolling.
Marker Girl: Intro take one.
Cecil Lammey: A lot of fantasy owners are facing their final chance to make the playoffs this week.
Sigmund Bloom: To help out we are focusing on the juiciest and ugly match ups in week 13.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill, you know the drill, you know the drill, you know the drill. Alright I’m ready
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Colby Smith proved that he can be a workhorse getting an amazing a 31 carries for the Chiefs. We like the kid but remember that this was against the Raiders; the team that made Ron Dayne looked like Barry Sanders. Now Smith should get it going in a couple weeks against the Broncos but this week against the Chargers it is a tough match up. We would sit him if you have other options like Fred Taylor vs. Indy or Earnest Graham vs. the Saints.
Sigmund Bloom: Things are looking up in the tale of two Adrian Peterson’s. Now Adrian Peterson the great should be back this week if he is active he has to be in your lineup, we already saw he can produce like a number one even in a committee. Adrian Peterson the OK is not looking quite as good only start him if you’re starting Cedric Benson the problem in Chicago might really be the play calling of Ron Turner.
Cecil Lammey: Kudos to the Eagles for finding a chink in the Pats armor, Bryan Billick is like yeah baby because he may have a blueprint to actually beat New England. This means that players like Mark Clayton, Derek Mason, and Cal Boller are better plays than usual and Devard Darling may put up Greg Lewis numbers if the Ravens also decide to attack New England’s nickel backs.
Sigmund Bloom: Speaking of wide receivers that could go straight from the waiver wire to your starting lineup we have got three more options for you. Justin Gage is now the number one for Vince Young, Sydney Rice is the number one for Tavares Jackson, and Brian Johnson got two possible game winning targets in crunch time and he faces the same Cleveland Browns secondary that gave up a big game to Devard Darling.
Cecil Lammey: We know we know it has been a rough year for the 49ers battering ram but Frank Gore proved against the Cardinals the he is healthy and still a force to be reckoned with. Carolina defenders look like they’re thinking more about their vacation than they are the rest of the regular season so Frank Gore should have another excellent day.
Sigmund Bloom: If you are stuck without a no brainer option at quarterback we love two of the inconsistent young guns that could square off in a match up playoff spot down the line. Vince Young will light up a Texas team that Kerry Collins had his way with when they met earlier this year and Matt Schaub should have his way with the Tennessee defense that is just a shell of what they were in September.
It highly unlikely that the Panthers will go back to Steve Smith’s kryptonite also known as David Carr because he was benched., now Smith is healthy and has had several good games without Carr, so if you need to go Cal-Stanford against a strong opponent this week toss it back to Steve Smith.
Sigmund Bloom: Mike Mark should be elated because he actually should throw 50 times against the Vikings this week. This makes guys like John Kitna, Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams they’re all no brainer starts this week and even a guy like Sean Mcdonald who has dropped off is a great hail Mary against a team that should see 50 or 55 passing attempts.
Cecil Lammey: We know the Jets are capable of beating the Dolphins’ at least and they get another shot at them this Sunday now Thomas Jones had over 100 yards the last time he faced the fins in week three and could get triple again because the Miami front seven is it injury laden. Now Cullin Clemens favorite target is Jericho Cotchery and we expect that Clemens should have more time to find him than he did against the cowboys.
Sigmund Bloom: We already told you to vote yes to Gore now we’re saying vote no on Bush. Reggie Bush faces a Tampa Bay defense that has owned him in his short career, he is banged up and he is losing goal line opportunities to Aaron Stecker so if you have to make a 50/50 call make it against Reggie Bush.
Cecil Lammey: Tight ends have had several good games against the Ravens highlighted by Antonio Gates resurgence last week. Now Ben Watson is a match up nightmare when you know how the Pats like to use those so expect Biggidy Ben Watson to get a lot of looks Monday night.
Sigmund Bloom: Like you we have been writing the Dallas and Green Bay defenses all year but this might be the week to send them to your bench. Tony Romo and Brett Favre are sure to have a shootout on Thursday night. If you have to go to the waiver wire for a defense we like San Francisco and St. Louis, both face teams with serious quarterback problems.
Cecil Lammey: Thanks for watching the 5 Minute Drill we will see you next week.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 12 giving thanks”

Cecil Lammey: It is quite possible you are watching this episode with a Turkey leg in your face.
Sigmund Bloom: That is why this week we will tell you why NFL fans and fantasy owners should be thankful.
Cecil Lammey: You know the tryptophan.
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Bobby Petrinos opponents are certainly thankful that he has not gotten over the loss of Michael Vick. The rotation between Harrington and Leftwich has been a combination of over thinking and knee jerk reaction. He started the wrong guy more than once; he has pulled a guy at the wrong time more than once, and lost his team in the process. Falcon fans should be thankful that that Petrino his landed in Atlanta could be a short one.
Sigmund Bloom: The Texans are thankful that everything is back to normal with the return of Andre Johnson, now normal is that Johnson is the number one fantasy receiver, in all of football, even higher than Randy Moss in a points per game basis. Matt Schaub is comfortable and a solid number two quarterback for your fantasy playoffs. And Ron Dayne even has fantasy value because he gets to lean on the defenses late in the game. The best part for the Texans is that they control their own destiny; they play every team in front of them in the wildcard standings down the stretch.
Cecil Lammey: Thanks to the Jets for finally handing off to Thomas Jones, is it any coincidence that they finally got their first big win after doing so? Now unfortunately TJ has the follow-up that 30 carry game with a short week against a tough run d. Kevin Jones reaggravated his foot in week 10 and only had 11 Carries in week 11. It is fun to start your guys on Turkey day, but if you have other options at running back, use them.
Sigmund Bloom: Bucs fan should be thankful that the team is playing well enough to make them forget that they passed on Adrian Peterson; John Gruden is building a cold weather team in South Florida, with a crafty veteran quarterback, a wide receiver that is found the fountain of youth, a young improving defense, and a great offensive line. Now Michael Pittman is back, and if Earnest Graham gets dinged he will have value down the stretch, but not as much as Tampa Bay defense, who has the best fantasy playoff schedule, with San Francisco and Atlanta.
Cecil Lammey: The Bucs aren’t the only team that are thanking the schedule gods for a easy end to the season, if you need a back up D to help you in the playoffs consider the following; in week 15 San Francisco plays Cincinnati, and Seattle plays Carolina, in week 16 the Cardinals get the Falcons, so if that is your championship week and your D has got a bad match up stash the Cardinals while you can.
You know the drill about Godaddy .Com, they have.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 Minute Drill can get 10% off any order, just entered drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com.
Sigmund Bloom: Drew Brees is thankful that he has the Falcons still left on his schedule, because everyone else’s going to make him feel like he is in a foxhole. Brees is one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, caving under pressure. Which means secondary options like Devry Henderson and Lance Moore, David Patten and Eric Johnson should all be on your bench if not on the waiver wire. When Brees is in trouble he only looks to Reggie Bush and Marcus Colston which means that they are primed for big numbers down the stretch.
Cecil Lammey: Cocky Patriots fans have to be thankful that only minor injuries have hit their skilled positions thus far, we have already told you about the sleeper potential of Jabar Gaffney and Kyle Eckel, but don’t forget about Matt Cassel. Yes he had a bad pass that was intercepted for a touchdown against Miami, but he showed great wheels on a touchdown run against the Redskins, if Tom Brady were to go down Cassel could come in and still put up numbers. Remember even Todd Bowman and Gus Ferat lit up the box score with Randy Moss on their team.
Sigmund Bloom: Jamal Lewis still has some juice in those old scissor legs and he should be a solid running back down the stretch. The Browns have one the best offenses in the league between sitting on Anderson short routes to Baylin Edwards, and Anderson’s spotty accuracy on short passes. Jamal Lewis should have as many touchdown opportunities as any running back in the league down the stretch.
Cecil Lammey: When Donovan Mcnabb is out of the lineup you should stay away from any and all members of the Eagles passing game. Even Brian Westbrook takes a hit; he only had one catch against the terrible Dolphins. Speaking of Westbrook fantasy owners and Eagles fans should be saying no thanks to the Eagles attempt to use him like Earl Campbell. Westbrook has been pretty durable lately, but if this keeps up his career could get a lot shorter.
Sigmund Bloom: Just like winning NFL teams championship fantasy teams do the little things like picking up a top tight end to be the backup for your playoff fantasy run. We like three options that should be on everyone’s waiver wire Chris Baker is getting looks from Cullen Clemens, Alex Smith is healthy again and Leonard Pope is stretching the seams for a Cardinals team that is now on the playoff hunt themselves. All three are top a red zone targets so if you have not filled your backup tight end you’re not out in the cold.
So Cecil what is your favorite thing to eat on thanksgiving?
Cecil Lammey: Oh man, smoked Turkey, baked Turkey, fried Turkey, wild turkey surprise, Turdunkin, twizzlers, Swiss steak, prime rib, apple pie, pumpkin pie, cherry pie, a la mode, ice cream, bratwurst…
Sigmund Bloom: I like how he said a la mode like it’s a thing…

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 11, opposite day”

Sigmund Bloom: Just when you thought you had this game figured out the NFL throws opposite day at us in week 10.
Cecil Lammey: This week we will tell you why Rex Grossman was more clutch than Peyton Manning and why the Bengals defense was better than the Titans.
Sigmund Bloom: You have no idea what the drill is.
Announcer: It is time for fantasy footballs 5 Minute Drill quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: On a day when Peyton Manning threw more interceptions than he ever has in a game and at Adam Vinaterry went the way of Mike Vannerjeck the Colts still had a chance of winning that game. Now there is a sentiment going around fantasy leagues that Payton Manning without his weapons is now a second tier fantasy quarterback. That is just insane, he still threw for over three 100 yards and had about a 20 game in most leagues including those that deduct points for interceptions. Now his weapons are coming back for the fantasy playoffs, so if you have a chance to go get him do it, because you may never get another shot.
Sigmund Bloom: The Bangles defense turned from a tame little pussy cat to a ferocious beasts last week that is because Steve Mcnair and Kyle Boller plate like Siegfried and Roy. Now, Kyle Bowler should be in for the rest of the year and that will help Mark Clayton who can now run routes more than 10 yards downfield. Plus Todd Heap and Demetrius Williams are banged up. The Bangles on the other hand should turn back into that pussy cat next week against the Cardinals.
Cecil Lammey: Who would have thought that Rex Grossman would be the savior for the Bears? Now don’t make any mistakes here he is still who we thought he was, a guy who struggles anytime his first option is covered. Now this is great news for Bernard Berrien, who Grossman uses as a crutch. And Berrien thrives off the deep ball that Greise couldn’t hit. Any time that Grossman is in the lineup for the bears you need to put Berrien and your line up.
Sigmund Bloom: None of us thought that the rams were going to go 0 and 16, but none of us thought that they were going to end the saints four game win streak in the superdome. What happened? The buy week happened, Mark Baltres ribs got better, Steven Jackson’s groin got better, and the aggressive game plan we expected at the beginning of the year was rolled out. Now Ike Bruce aggravated his hamstring which means Drew Bennett and Randy McMichael are sneaking plays down the stretch.
Cecil Lammey: Just when you thought it looked like they were running the ball that are the lines puke up -18 yards rushing the worst rushing performance in the NFL since they wore leather helmets. Now Mike Martz can still abandon the run at any time especially when they’re down double digits, given that and given the fact that the Lions struggle when they are not at Ford Field, expect more of a rushing attack when they are and expect more of a passing game when there on the road. Play guys like Furrey and Sean McDonald accordingly.
As the world’s number one fantasy football host of course I want to be with the world’s number one domain registrar Godaddy.com has.com names as low as $1.99, world class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the 5 minute drill can get 10% off any order just entered Drill3 when you check out and get your piece of the Internet at Godaddy.com.
Sigmund Bloom: Clearly the way to beat the Titans is to run the ball; well it is when Albert Haynesworth is out. Now this number one ranked run defense lost their edge with Haynesworth and that means you can start your running backs when Haynesworth is inactive. It is a opposite day so what is bad for the Titans is good for Vince Young’s fantasy prospects, young was let loose and denied a touchdown on a drive stall out because Kevin Wide double clutched the ball, so Vince Young might get hot down the stretch.
Cecil Lammey: Who needs Michael Vick in the NFL when you have Big Ben and his 4940? His 30 yard touchdown and big third down run were utterly unexpected and certainly will not be repeated. Now what this game showed us is that the offense runs through Big Ben, not the rushing attack. Hines ward and Santonio Holmes are top 25 receivers, and don’t forget Heath Miller, he gets a lot of looks in the Red zone.
Sigmund Bloom: Lets pour a 40 for Steve Mcnair and Sean Alexander how the game may have passed them by oh we will never forget the years that they help us win week in and week out. Let’s drink a 44 Brett Favre, Priest Holmes, and Warrick Dunn, these guys might be old but there helping their teams win and our fantasy teams. Let’s keep that for at 40 on ice for Marvin Harrison, who has a knee injury that might not let him play again for the rest of his career.
Cecil Lammey: Despite blowing a game to a team that most people have written off the Redskins found their lone bright spot in the most unlikely of places and that was in the play of receiver James Thrash, now it wasn’t that he just caught two receiving touchdowns. It was the fact that he was interfered with for number three, and that he was wide open for number four but Jason Campbell did not see him. Now thrasher is a little bit dinged up but he deserves a roster spot.
Sigmund Bloom: If you are and Adrian Peterson owner you have gone from making room for your trophy shelf to making room on your roster for a running back the has to save your season if you are not able to get Chester Taylor we like four running backs who should come relatively cheap at the trade deadline. We like Thomas Jones because Cellin Clemens will open up run lanes, we like his brother Julius because Dallas will be in some easy matchups, he should be getting about 20 Carries a game. We like Rudi Johnson because he is the starter on the team has the easiest playoff match up in the league. We like Justin Fargas because Lamont Jordan was in sweat pants on the sidelines on Sunday.
Cecil Lammey: So Feletti says that I’m the world’s number one fantasy football host.
Sigmund Bloom: Yeah but it is opposite day so that means I’m number one.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The 5 Minute Drill
Episode “Week 10 under the radar”

Cecil Lammey: Sunday was an amazing day for the stars of the NFL, but there are guys not named, Peterson, Brady, or Adia, that deserve some attention.
Sigmund Bloom: That is why this week we will look at running backs, a penalty and a draft pick that are flying under the radar of the national media.
Cecil Lammey: I know that you know that I know that you know the drill.
Announcer: Its time for fantasy football's Five Minute Drill, quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Lane Kivet announced that Justin Fargas is the starter until further notice. Now he is the top dog on a team that is committed to the run, so he has to be a consideration as a fantasy starter but he is nothing special. The main knock on him is that he is in an impatient runner; if the whole is there he is not averse to get through the line of scrimmage quickly. If the hole is not there he is not creative enough to make anything happen on his own, last Sunday the holes were big and he got the yards but do not confuse him with a real franchise back.
Speaking of the Raiders Ron Dayne had a huge game against them on Sunday now the Raiders are 30th against the run and if you watch the tape it is because Stewart Swaggart is killing them. He is so far out of position that he is actually blocking his own defenders from making a play. Now Ron Dayne is good for making 40 to 60 yards against most any team but usually that is his ceiling.
Herman Edwards has said that he does not want Priest Holmes to touch the ball more than 15 times. Now Holmes is the hot waiver wire pick up this week with Larry Johnson out, but we think the guy you should go get is Kolby Smith, the guy with a sweet home match up against the Broncos. The Chiefs are going to want to see what they have in this young rookie. He is from Louisville he is a power back that filled in nicely when Michael Bush went down with injury, but unlike most power backs this kid can catch.
Sigmund Bloom: The Arizona offense bottomed out last week in Tampa Bay which should be your cue to get Edgrin James, Antoine Bouldin, or Kurt Warner every team they play are in the bottom half of NFL defenses from here on out of is underbelly of the NFL. The 31st rate bangles will make 11 and the 32nd -ranked Browns with whom in line and in week thirteen, which means playing a card, could be your best bet to get to the playoffs.
Cecil Lammey: Adrian Peterson was amazing, but that line was parting the charter defense like the Red Sea. If Chester Taylor gets a chance behind that line he could turn himself into a every week fantasy starter just the chance that Peterson gets dinged up means you keep Chester if you got him or get him if you don’t.
Before I hand the ball back to Sigmund I have to let you know about a special offer for viewers of the Five Minute Drill. If you want to get going online, GoDaddy.com makes it easy, they have .com names as low as $1.99, world-class web hosting plus more. Viewers of the Five Minute Drill can get 10% off any order just enter drill3 when you check out. Indeed your peace of the Internet at GoDaddy.com.
Sigmund Bloom: Only the NFL can put in a delay of game penalty that delays the game more than what they are penalizing, it reached the height of absurdity this week for Nan Morrissey made a heady play taking what could have been a lateral out of bounds but they call them for the delay of game penalty anyway. When the Mother Teresa of the NFL, work done, gets called for a penalty because he does not gift wrap the ball and give it on a silver platter you know something's wrong.
Cecil Lammey: Ryan Grant was running like his cheese head was on fire, and until he got a concussion against the Chiefs. Now Mike McCarthy says he will be fine but this week against the Vikings it is a very tough matchup. If you missed out on him on the waiver wire the first time around, wait until after the Minnesota game and you might get a second chance.
The other Adrian Peterson was pretty good in college as well, he finished his career in division one AA as all-time leading rusher at Georgia Southern. Now we all know about Cedric Benson’s public outburst, and the rumor is that he could lose his job. Now this may or may not happen, but don't wait go out and get the other Adrian Peterson just in case.
Shaun Alexander is fading fast he could not get it done against the Browns this last week and the Browns are ranked 27th against the run. Now Maurice Morris came in last year and had 263 yards in two games when Alexander was out with the injury and he showed that he is a pretty good receiver as well, so down the homestretch gambling on the dock might pay off.
Sigmund Bloom: The Pats are nine and oh but even when they lose they win, they lost their first round pick in Camerongate, but they still have S.F.'s first round pick which is one more than the Colts have and that is probably going to be a top 10 pick. If they're making you sick just think about Glenn Dorsey, or Darren McFadden or James Laurinaitis in a Patriots uniform. Of course knowing the Patriots they will just trade down, get one of those guys, and get an extra pick for 2009.
Cecil Lammey: So Bloom what do you…? So Bloom what do you… thanks for watching everybody this time that will do it for this week on the Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The 5 Minute Drill
Episode “Week 9 scary situations”

Cecil Lammey: Buaha ha ha, it is a special Holloway in addition of the Five Minute Drill.
Sigmund Bloom: Let's sit around the campfire and tell ghost stories of players who are scary dad and scary gooood.
Cecil Lammey: All hail the drill.
Announcer: Its time for fantasy football's Five Minute Drill, quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Chris Chambers has scary potential, usually when a guy goes to a new team it takes him a little while to get used to the offense. But the Cameron offense is very similar to the Turner offense; they even use some of the same terminology. This could explain why Chambers was getting opened early and often all day Sunday including the deep pass that Rivers just overthrew him. Now this is a scary development for Vincent Jackson owners, and it is an early Christmas gift if you own Chambers.
Cedric Benson had a scary outburst I quote, “I have been hearing a lot of people criticizing and talking stuff, they are not watching the games or the plays they are just throwing out criticism. Do I need to run with more of a burst? No, and f*ck them.” End quote. What we have been saying all along that Cedric is running better than the numbers, then apparently he agrees. Now the scary thing here is that he is paying too much attention to what is being said and it is getting to him.
There is a sleeper alert in Green Bay but it is not Deshaun Wynn, 38 of his 50 rushing yards came on one carry and yes he scored a couple of times but it was on draw plays against pass defenses. The guy that we like and Mike McCarthy likes as well is Ryan Grant the kid that has been buried on the Giants depth chart. The Packers traded for him, he has got a common explosion which he did show on his one catch in this last week's game. Ryan Grant could be Amon Green version 2 .0.
Alright ready for Ryan Grant…
Faletti: Come on and Lammey we did this one in six weeks ago.
Cecil Lammey: Don't you sass me Faletti! God this is why I want my agent on the phone right now.
Sigmund Bloom: If you are hating on the Patriots it is probably because you are afraid of what they would do to your theme. If you are hating on them because they are running up the score you have got to remember the reason why this team lost the AFC championship game it is because they let up when they were up big. And look who they get this week, oh you know who it is the Colts. So if you are hating on them you also have to remember that this is not a team that had everything handed to them. There are a lot of middle weight talents on this team and only Randy Moss was the first superstar this year. So if you are hating on the Patriots just sit back and enjoy the excellence.
Cecil Lammey: Kellen Clemens is trying to end the Jets nightmare. Now those Jets receivers had better toughen up those hands because Clemens passes come in with a lot of zip. He looked a little hesitant against his first start in Baltimore until the fourth quarter when he was driving them down the field for the tie and three different receivers dropped three potential touchdown passes. Now this is also good news for Thomas Jones owners because a quarterback making his second start usually hands off a lot.
Sigmund Bloom: Don't be afraid to seize the moment and turn your team into a champion with a trade. Take a look at your starting lineup, if it is only a team that might make the playoffs, push all in to make that starting lineup the best that it can be. Now if you are almost assured a playoff spot go for Willy Parker or Larry Johnson. Kansas City and Pittsburgh join Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Tampa as the teams with the easiest playoff schedules of anybody in the league, so these guys might be the key to winning your championship.
Cecil Lammey: Adam Echemandu was the bright spot in what was otherwise a scary day for the Texans. Now he hits the hole hard and he reads his blocks well, he also caught a nice pass over the middle showing why he was a wide receiver at Cal for a while. He is more valuable to the Texans than Ron Dayne and should see more carries especially if Amon Greens injury woes continue.
Braylin Edwards is not only having a good year statistically he is dominating on all levels; he is unstoppable when you throw the ball above his shoulders even if he is double covered. He also can pluck bad passes off of the ground and knock back would-be tackler's. The scary news is there is room for improvement, which is good for this year and next.
Do anything you can do scare the Maurice Jones-Drew owner in your league, aah Quinn Gray is quarterback, aah LeBrandon Joyfield is the goal line back, aah MJD is a little banged up. Anything including showing him pictures of Robert Gallery's tattoos, now the scary thing is that Maurice Jones-Drew almost had another big day on Sunday. So when the breaks start going for him then good things are going to happen.
Cecil Lammey: So Bloom what are you going to be for Halloween?
Sigmund Bloom: I really want to go as David Carr but I can't find the right gloves.
Cecil Lammey: Check the Disney store. Everyone thanks for watching the Five Minute Drill, we will see you next week.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The 5 Minute Drill
Episode “Week 8 answering the bell”

Cecil Lammey: It is almost the halfway point of the season and already teams and players have been asked to step it up a notch.
Sigmund Bloom: This week we'll break down the players and the units who all are rising to the occasion to help their team win and yours.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Announcer: Its time for fantasy football's five minute drill, quarterbacked by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: The season is spinning out of control for the Miami Dolphins. Ronnie Brown is now out for the year with an injury which means the Dolphins are going to look at some of their young running backs. But for the next several weeks that job is going to belong to Jesse Chatman, he has a sudden cutting ability and a nasty shoulder dip that left Rodney Harrison and Junior Seau both are grasping for air. We think that he should get about 80% of Brown's rushing numbers. And he is no slouch as a receiver out of the back field either. Put Jesse Chatman at the top of your waiver wire picks this week.

Sigmund Bloom: Quick name the top three fantasy wide receivers over the last three weeks. If you said Wes Welker, Dirk Stallworth, and Randy Moss well you are probably a Patriots homer and you are right. Tom Brady has Peyton Manning's single-season touchdown record in his sights, and the Patriots won't let up until he gets it. One more name to remember Jabar Gafney, if any of these top three go down he will be money.
Cecil Lammey: You should buy low on the Detroit Lions passing game. Now Kevin Jones is fully healthy and they are actually running the ball very well in Detroit. But the defense still stinks and they can’t rely on the forced errors like they got against the Buccaneers, which allowed them to play keep away for most of the game. This offense will get into plenty of shoot outs, look for Roy Williams he has been invisible in the box score so he may be available. Calvin Johnson looks like he is ready to blow it up. So go out and make your move for these guys right now.
Sigmund Bloom: Maybe the Titans were insane to take Chris Henry in the second round, after one of the most scintillating finishes we've ever seen in a game one thing you might have lost in the mix is that Chris Henry has the best hands, burst, and power of any running back in Tennessee. Now Chris Brown will be back next week, so Henry is not going to be a mainstay of the offense yet. But he showed that he can get it done when he gets the call.
Cecil Lammey: When Andre Johnson comes back it will be Andre Davidson not Kevin Walter that goes to the bench. Walter has developed into a fine possession receiver which complements perfectly with a big-play threat, whether that threat is Johnson or Davis. He runs crisp routes and has superglue for hands. So if you are desperate for a wide receiver take a look at Walter.
Before I hand the ball back to Sigmund I have to let you know about a special offer for viewers of the five minute drill. If you want to get going online GoDaddy.com makes it easy, they have .com names for as low as a $1.99, world-class web hosting, plus more. Viewers of the five minute drill can get 10% off any order; just enter drill3 when you check out. Get your piece of the internet with go Daddy.com.
Sigmund Bloom: It is clear that it is actually a good thing that Trent Edwards is the quarterback for Lee Evans. And now Edwards showed the arm and that Stanford intellect when he hit Evans on a deep ball looking off the safety so that Evans could get open. Now that Evans has a quarterback who can run the full offense and get him the ball deep, even get him the ball in some intermediate and short passes he is safe to leave in your lineup every week.
Cecil Lammey: Jovan Walker may be out for a least the next several weeks. This opens up the door for other players and they are stepping it up. Tony Scheffler is a favorite red zone target of his best friend Jay Cutler just like we told you in a few weeks ago. Brandon Marshall gets 100% of the deep passes even if it is in double coverage. And Brandon Stokely is a veteran receiver who knows how to work those underneath routes and get open. All three of these guys are legitimate fantasy starters every week.
Sigmund Bloom: just one month ago the Giants were on the ropes. They were 0-2 and down 17 to 3 in the half, now they have come roaring into the center of the ring on Brandon Jacobs and the best pass rush in the league. Now Jacobs is hurt, but that might just be what you need to get him from a nervous owner for the stretch run. He went from being very questionable all week to dominating the 49ers.
Cecil Lammey: Brian Griese is patient and accurate and he also stands in the pocket and still delivers the ball while taking the big hit. He spreads the ball around to all of his receivers and the tight ends, showing mastery of the offense. So if you are desperate for a quarterback Griese is good for 250 and a touchdown or two each week.
Sigmund Bloom: The Saints offense is back on the confidence of Drew Brees, and the fight between Reggie Bush and Marcus Colston. Marcus Colston is the guy you want to go after this week he is getting open and he is finally going to pay off on the high draft picks that people spent on him.
Cecil Lammey: The Larry Johnson hating needs to stop! I just got off the phone with Rhonda Moss from 610 sports in KC. Priest Holmes told her that he is there to complement not compete with Larry Johnson. The Bennett trade signals that the Chiefs believe that Priest is a good backup but LJ is their workhorse, LJ is their star, and anyone who says differently is just trying to stir the pot.
Sigmund Bloom: Speaking of stepping up, one guy who didn't Quinn Gray on Monday night.
Cecil Lammey: He is not Dr. Quinn, good thing David Gérard comes back. Hey everyone thanks for watching the five minute drill, we will see you next week.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 7 rebounds”

Cecil Lammey: As the fantasy football season rolls on it becomes harder and harder to find value via the waiver wire or trades.
Sigmund Bloom: That's why this week we are running down players and teams poised for a rebound.
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Santana Moss took himself out of the lineup, you should think twice before you take him out of yours. He was dropping passes all day, he was slipping on his routes, and he had a tipped pass that was turned into an interception. He fumbled on a reverse that turned into a defense of touchdown. It was a horrible day for Santana, but he is just too talented repeat this kind of game, embarrassment is a great motivator, and expect him to bounce back this week.
Sigmund Bloom: Gus Farah's five interceptions were ugly for St. Louis, but six wasn't even uglier number. They were down to their six string wide receiver, Marcus Hagans against Baltimore. Now Mark Bulgers is coming back, the wide receivers are going to get healthy, but that is not the best reason to invest in the St. Louis passing offense. If you look down the rest of their schedule, they get cupcakes like Cleveland, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Atlanta and oh yeah NFC West mates. So if you can get Mark Bulger or Tory Holt make a move this week.
Cecil Lammey: Shaun Alexander meets the wall. This guy is truly looking very bad, unable to get 3 yards per carry in the last two games. And he couldn't run against the Saints, everybody runs against the Saints. Now Leonard Weaver came in and looks more explosive, and was also in on key situations in the fourth quarter. At this point buying low on Shaun Alexander might be overpaying.
Sigmund Bloom: The Chicago Bears need to find Cedric Benson and sighing whoever it was wearing number 32 for them last week. That running back ran with urgency in won collisions against Minnesota, the toughest run defense in the league. Now that running back is going to have many chances for touchdowns with a revived passing game, Devon Hester, and of course the great defense. So if you can get number 32 for the Bears, do it.
Cecil Lammey: Carson Palmer is primed for a better second half. Let's face it other than the Cleveland game he has been kind of ahh. He has been under a lot of pressure and forcing his throws, but the upcoming schedule features teams that are soft on QB pressure and they face the Browns in week 16. Can you say championship?
Sigmund Bloom: Tavares Jackson had one of the best nine for 23 days you'll ever see. Clearly there is nothing wrong with his timing; he hit wide receivers perfectly in stride on force lance that they dropped. Now he is also going deep setting up with the play action because everybody is obsessed with Adrian Peterson. Tavares Jackson might arrive on the fantasy scene sooner than you think.
Cecil Lammey: The Tampa bay Buccaneers finally have a decent running back. With Cadillac Williams injury, Michael Pittman's injury, now they have gone out and traded for Michael Bennett from the Kansas City Chiefs. This guy is a slasher, and the Bucks already have a solid veteran quarterback who doesn't make mistakes. They have a great group of wide receivers, and they have a very solid defense. Bennett could rush for almost 1000 yards in the final eight games.
Sigmund Bloom: Don't be full by the pedestrian numbers. Matt Schaub is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The first two games were blowouts; they had it up on blocks by the end of the third quarter. The last four there was no Andre Johnson. He is going to be one of the best ten quarterbacks in the league down the stretch. He is doing it all by himself with guts and creativity so now is the time to make a move for Schaub.
Cecil Lammey: The Pittsburgh offense is a sleeping giant Big Ben Rothesburger is set to put the fantasy world on fire. Their upcoming schedule features teams that are weak against the pass, including Cincinnati twice. We feel you can go out and get anybody in this passing game, Big Ben, Santonio Holmes, Hines Ward, whoever.
Sigmund Bloom: We recommend going after three a league wide receivers this week on the trade market, Marvin Harrison, Antoine Boldin, and Jevon Walker are all among the best in the game. But because they have been missing time due to injury their owners may have forgotten really how good they are. So throw out those offers.
Cecil Lammey: There is another threat to Jamaal Lewis’s planning time. Now last week we told you that Jason Wright was the pickup, and he did have a solid fantasy day. But he takes a ton of punishment on almost every carry. This could open the door for Jerome Harrison, the fastest back on the Browns roster who showed a nasty stiff arm twice for a first down against the Dolphins. We think that Harrison can play a bigger role before the season is over.
Now for the teams that are going to bounce back Bloom if you are the Dolphins and you are thinking about the draft who do they take?
Sigmund Bloom: They have got to go with Jake Long, the best defensive tackle in next year's class. But Cecil St. Louis has not won yet who should they go for?
Cecil Lammey: It is another defensive tackle for the Rams, this time he is good. It is Glenn Dorsey.
Sigmund Bloom: Buy your bagels baby.
Cecil Lammey: Thanks for watching The Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 6 long shots”

Cecil Lammey: There is going to be six teams on buy this week. Which means finding waiver wire gems is more crucial than ever.
Sigmund Bloom: That is why this week we are bringing you long shots that should be available in every league, and telling you whether they will build a help your team.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: The season is going up in smoke for the Denver Broncos whether it is Tom Nales torn bicep, he is out for the year. Or the impending suspension of Travis Henry, things are not looking good in Denver. Not everyone may go out and get Selvin Young thinking he is going to be the man. It is not the case I like to call him Inspector gadget because every time he has a big run, it is on a gadget play. The guy we like is Andre hall from South Florida. He is a little smaller but he is very explosive, has great vision, and is a great receiver out of the backfield. We think he will eventually emerge for Denver.
Sigmund Bloom: Brad Smith is turning into a real NFL wide receiver. Now if he could just get a quarterback with a real NFL arm. It is painfully obvious the defense is not honoring Chad Pennington, so it is time for Cullin Clemens. Now if Clemens gets in the speed, quickness, body control and hands of Smith will make him into that playmaking complement that Levernies Coles and Jericho Caudry need so badly. And it just might open some running lanes for Thomas Jones.
Cecil Lammey: Brody Croyle is just a little guy but he has a big arm. That will not make up for the inexperience and mental mistakes that this kid will make. Kind of like running back to throw the ball, having a fall out of your hand, ala Dave Craig, and then doing a little dance trying to pick the ball up. Brody is a live play, jump on the ball. Herman Edwards will not allow him to open it up very much, so look elsewhere if you need a quarterback.
Sigmund Bloom: The Seahawks have no choice this week but to see what Ben Obomanu can do in their lineup. So maybe you should see what he can do in your fantasy lineup. They were taking tons of shots to him deep and basically with DJ Hackett and Deon Branch out for at least two more weeks. He is the only playmaking wide receiver they have. So if you are desperate go for Obomanu.
Cecil Lammey: Jason Wright is looking like the back they need in Cleveland. Jamaal Lewis’ injury will open the door for him on Sunday. He has thick powerful legs, and he was running strong against the tough New England defense. Fighting off arm tackles, and getting every yard possible. Whether or not Lewis is healthy, we think Wright deserves more playing time.
Sigmund Bloom: There is a new chapter in the feel-good story of Kyle Eckel. This guy who lit it up in training camp in 2005, while being in active duty in the Navy is now getting the chance to be the Mike Alstot of New England, the best offense in the league. Now if Sammy Morris gets hurt he might get a chance to do even more.
Cecil Lammey: Cam Cameron knows Cleo Lemon. Back when they were with the Chargers, Lemon was behind Breeze and Rivers. Cameron kept him around as the active third quarterback, because he did not want another team to scoop him off the practice squad. Now Cleo is a gambler, but it will take some shots downfield. It is going to mean some interceptions, but it is also going to mean some deep passes. Well who benefits the most from this? Ted Ginn, he got three deep looks after Lemon came in the game. And with his improved route running he could break out soon with lemon looking his way.
Sigmund Bloom: Lamont Robinson is making an impact in the games; it is only a matter of time until he starts making impact in the box score. After he drew to pass interference penalties against Houston, last week he was wide open for the game time touchdown. Byron Leftwhich just missed him. He is going to be the number one wide receiver at Atlanta before long. And it might even happen before the end of the year.
Cecil Lammey: The rumors continue to swirl that Michael Bush could be activated for the Raiders. Now Dominic Rhodes is still there, but Bush is far more physically talented. He is a big back, but he is not Jerome Bettis. He has got great footwork like Bettis, but he has got great speed like a tailback. He could be the ultimate long shot if he gets a chance to start for the Raiders.
Sigmund Bloom: Devry Anderson's speed and quick’s in the open field are sizzling to Eddie have frying pans for hands. He has been demoted from the number two job so ignore that hundred yard day. It is not going to happen again. If you do need help from New Orleans wide receivers look at Lance Moore. This guy is getting kudos from the coaching staff and all he did in the preseason was make plays.
Cecil Lammey: Tony Scheffler and Jay Cutler have great chemistry dating back to last year when they were rookies coming up with the Broncos. Now Scheffler has what Graham does not, which is that deep speed over the middle. And anyone could be the next Dallas Clark, it is Tony Scheffler. You could also develop into an every week fantasy starter.
We have covered a lot of players today, if there was one guy on that list to go pick up who would it be?
Sigmund Bloom: Well Cecil you were as surprised as I was when Andre Hall went undrafted. This kid he has got the skills to be a top-notch NFL running back. So there is one guy on the waiver wire who might help you win your league outright, it is Andre Hall
Cecil Lammey: He is the man. Thanks for watching, The Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 5 teams in turmoil”

Cecil Lammey: After four weeks in the NFL, there are teams in transition and teams in turmoil.
Sigmund Bloom: Get out your tarot cards, tea leaves and astrological charts because this is a fortune telling edition of the five minute drill.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey, and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Here is point to the shirt and now there is point to the knee, thanks to Dante Culpepper. He was scoring touchdown after touchdown against the Dolphins but when you dig deeper you see he didn’t have mastery of the offense. And that is why he ran so much. Speaking of the running game the Oakland running backs situation is getting ugly. Lamont Jordan’s injury was so bad he had trouble sitting down at the end of the game. Now Justin Fargus came in and looked good. But remember dating back to his college days at Michigan an USC he has always been a one dimensional back that relies mostly on straight line speed. Dominique Rhodes is the player here because after the bye week he is coming back and he is more proven and more versatile than Fargus.
Sigmund Bloom: Lets get one thing straight Phillip Rivers does not suck. Neither interception on Sunday was his fault. Now Vincent Jacksons dropped touchdown pass was Jacksons fault. Jackson struggles plus Buster Davis injury means our favorite sleeper in San Diego; Malcolm Floyd is going to get his shot. So don’t let him sit on your waiver wire. Now you might have missed the chance to get LT at his lowest moment. But Rivers is in his lowest moment and it might extend until next week, because they have the Denver pass defense in week five.
Cecil Lammey: Kevin Jones trusts his foot; he was making hard cuts on it all day. And he is working his way back to being the feature runner for the Lions. Now John Kitney is not just a product of the Mad Mark system. He has actually matured into an excellent NFL quarterback. His spirals are tight and he puts the ball in places where his receivers can make an easy catch. He may just lead them to the ten wins that he predicted.
Sigmund Bloom: After last week even David Carr’s mother has probably dropped him in her fantasy league. Now he is the same guy we thought he was. He is bailing out; he is throwing the ball away with no pressure. And he is just broken quarterback. Now that does not mean that you should not trade Steve Smith, just not going to get the value you need for this guy. David Carr was still able to make
Andre Johnson a decent fantasy wide receiver, while he was doing all the same stuff in Houston. So you probably need to hold on to Steve Smith because no one will give you what he is truly worth.
Cecil Lammey: St. Louis Rams meet rock bottom, we told you last week that the wheels were falling off and they did. Things are so bad that there is value to be had now with the St. Louis players feel out your Steven Jackson and Tory Holt owners and see if you can make a deal, because even if Gus Feraud is starting this offense is going to score more than seven points regularly.
Sigmund Bloom: Bobby Patrino might be puling off the best reclamation project in NFL history. After everybody had left Joey Harington for dead, he looks like a real quarterback. The quick thinking offense that Patrino has installed takes advantage of Harington’s biggest strength, which is his arm. And doesn’t play to his biggest weakness, which is anytime he has the all for more than three seconds. Now these young wide receivers make this passing offense potent but the real test this week is at Tennessee. If he pulls it off the maybe even I will be a believer.
Cecil Lammey: Buffalos rookie played better than Buffalos veteran. Trent Edwards was in and showed good footwork in the pocket, was hitting his receivers in stride all day. Lee Evans certainly appreciated that because he came back to the box score. Marshon Lynch has become the focal point of this offense, but now they have got Dallas on Monday night. It could be a rough game but the season is far from over for the Bills.
Sigmund Bloom: The game plan in Minnesota is simple, get the ball in the hands of one of the rookies. If it is not Adrian Peterson, then it is Sidney Rice. Now he made his big splash this week including a huge game. Including a touchdown pass where he practically levitated when he caught the ball. They have deep offense installed and with Tevarus Jacksons arm you can be sure there will be fireworks between Jackson and Rice. Now Peterson is in a committee, but we all know who the best back in Minnesota is. Throw out some trade offers while he is on a bye and you just might steal this Uber stud.
Cecil Lammey: The light bulbs come on for Jason Campbell he is relying on his instincts more and throwing a really good deep pass. Now unfortunately the Santana Moss injury appears to be very serious. The redskins went out and signed Keenan Mcardell. Antoine Randle El is the player that will take on the feature role and his value can’t get any lower, especially because they play the Lions this week.
Sigmund Bloom: Who am I to doubt Ken Whisenhunt? He used the controversial quarterback by committee to get his signature win against his old mates of Pittsburg. Now the problem here is that he is playing with fire. Matt Leinart is clearly fed up. He did play better when he came off the bench. But if he doesn’t get the starting job back he jus might break mentally. On the other hand edge James is not gong to break, he is their workhorse. If anybody in your league thinks he is old a washed up, throw out a trade offer and you just might steal him.
Cecil Lammey: Quarterback by committee just doesn’t work.
Sigmund Bloom: Yeah, but host by committee it’s the only way to go.
Cecil Lammey: This is my show. Thanks for watching The Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 4 preparations”

Cecil Lammey: Fantasy football is a war of attrition.
Sigmund Bloom: If your lineup looks like a Mash unit, don’t worry we are flying in the reinforcements.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey, and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Thank you Jesus Kurt Warner is worth a roster spot. He was playing great for the Cardinals showing timing and accuracy that Matt Leinart doesn’t have. And Warner was showing improvisational skills that we are not used to. Now Matt Leinart is still the starter but Kurt Warner could get in for a few weeks, and oh what a spectacular few weeks it could be.
The one thing that we know about Trent Edward is that he is hurt more than he is healthy. Now we didn’t get much of a chance to get it going or the Bills this last week. The kid has a good arm but don’t expect much from the Bills passing game here on out. Marshon Lynch will be the guy that gets thirty carries a game.
Laurence Maroney was at full strength this last week against the Bills and boy did he look good, punishing defenders between the tackles. Don’t think it is Sammy Morris in the red zone, Maroney did get some goal line looks as well, now he may be a running back by committee but he is still the number one back, one the number one offense.
Steven Jackson Is out which means rookie Bryan Leonard Is in. Now the Rams offense is struggling but Leonard fits exactly what the want from a running back. He has good forward body lean. He runs with a great pad level. This kid will take what the defense gives him. Don’t be surprised if he hurdles a few defenders along the way. He was known for that at Rutgers.
Ernest Graham Is the Deshaun Wynn of week three. Meaning that he is the guy who scored a couple of touchdowns and people may think he is the hot waiver wire pickup, but he is not. I love Graham dating back to his days in Florida, but when Cadillac Williams is banged up. Michael pitman is still there, Ernest Graham is there, and it is going to be a committee so don’t go get this guy.
Musa Smith may be a long shot but he is certainly worth a gamble for your fantasy team. He is an underrated talent not only as a running back but as a receiver as well. He is clearly the number 2 behind Willis Mcgahee who is known to get banged up if you have got to spare a roster spot. Let Musa simmer on the bench for awhile.
Ronnie White is legit he is fantastic running after the catch and oh so tough to bring down. He is over the drops that plagued him the first few years with the Falcons, and he keeps himself on the field every play with his great run blocking. If Byron Leftwhich gets the start it will only help White even more.
It is the end of the Grossman gravy train for Bernard Berrian. Now Bernard’s Numbers were largely dependent on Grossmans lock on him. Bernard is also largely known for dropping passes including the bad drop on the touchdown pass last week. Kyle Orden and Bryan Griese can’t go deep so you have to get rid of Berrian while you can.
There is a new Andre in Houston at the wide receiver position. With Andre Johnson and Jacoby Jones out it means that Andre Davis is the man. Matt Schaub looked at him repeatedly late in the game, including a 4th and nine that Davis converted with a tough catch. Look at him on your waiver wire as the sharp pick of the week.
Sigmund Bloom: The Buy weeks are here, which means that your depth will be put to the test. Now even the deepest roster on draft day could be decimated in the blink of an eye. So today we are talking about the fantasy football Hail Mary, your waiver wire desperation plays.
Now if you have been starting Vince Young or Drew Brees, and you have no viable backup at all. We think you should go with Dante Culpepper, or Bryan Griese. They should be a starter by game day and Bryan Griese goes against Detroit, who thought they were on bye last week.
Week four is going to be brutal for running back byes. Clinton Portis, Reggie Bush, Maurice Jones Drew, Fred Taylor and Lindell White are all out this week. So lots of owners will be scrambling to the waiver wire. If you can’t get Bryan Leonard, we like the New England and Houston running backs as desperation plays. New England uses all four of their running backs, including Heath Evans at the goal line. And Ron Dayne might get the start coming back against a missed week against Atlanta.
Marcus Colston and Santana Moss owners might be looking for a replacement this week, although if you have Moss you caught a break because he is probably not healthy enough to play anyway. When you are looking for the desperation play at wide receiver, the number three is your friend. We like Nate Washington, Bryant Johnson, and our favorite Brandon Stokely going back to Indianapolis.
Four is the magic number at tight end this week if your looking for a desperation play, Pittsburg has thrown four touchdowns to their tight ends ,so Jeremy Tooman and Matt Spaith might catch one this week. The New York giants have given up four touchdowns to tight ends, So Matt Strobel is a good play for Philadelphia.
Cecil Lammey: We have got one last double shot for you.
Sigmund Bloom: Make sure you tune in next Friday for a special on fantasy footballs new world order.
Cecil Lammey: Ooh yeah, thanks for watching The Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 3 preparation”

Cecil Lammey: If you are 0-2 its time to get aggressive.
Sigmund Bloom: If your 2-0 you hope to beat the challengers to the punch.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill.
Announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Big Ben Rothesburger is like the terminator. He is just fearless. Now he is back to staying in the pocket taking the big hit and still delivering the ball all over the field. 24 passes means that the Steelers are serious about throwing the football. This team is still working out the kinks in the redzone, which means it is a sleeping giant in Pittsburg.
J.T. O’Sullivan proved to be a capable backup for the Lions, now he got into the timing and the rhythm of the complex Mike Marts offense. Which we know could be very hard to do for a quarterback. John Kitna get beat up like a piñata. So we know that O’Sullivan is going to see the field again and when he is out there he is going to put up some numbers.
I don’t know what is more disappointing, Matt Leinarts 2007 season or the fact that Tony Cornheiser is still talking. Now Matt has shown an even weaker arm than what he is known for. With games against Baltimore and Pittsburg coming up, it is time to put Matt on the bench.
There is a sleeper alert in Greenbay but its not Deshaun Wynn. 38 of his rushing yards came on one carry. And yeah he scored a couple of times, but it was on draw plays against pass defenses. The guy that we like and Mike McCarthy likes as well is Ryan Grant, the kid that has been buried on the Giants depth chart. The Packers traded for him. He has a ton of explosion, which he showed on his one catch in this last game. Ryan Grant could be Armon Green version 2.0.
Lamonte Jordan had a great game against the Broncos but don’t go crazy on this guy. It had more to do with D.J Williams being out of position every play. Remember Dominique Rhodes comes back after week four. There is a quarterback change that is looking when Jamarcus Russell gets the start, the center offense will struggle.
Bryan Calhoun transferred from Colorado to Wisconsin because the Buff’s were going to make him a wide receiver. It is ironic that his receiving skills are going to help win him a job with the Detroit lions. We know that Tatum Bell is not the answer, and Kevin Jones is still a question mark. Bryan Calhoun runs with great vision and great burst, we like this kid as a deep sleeper.
Brandon Marshal almost had a huge day for the Denver Broncos; he had a touchdown catch that was called back because of a touchy pass interference penalty. Michael Irving used to get away with that all day. Brandon Marshall has above average speed and great body control; he is everything you want in a wide receiver.
Roydell Willimas had a nice game for the Titans but he is not the #1 receiver there. There is no number 1 receiver in Tennessee. Vince Young doesn’t look as improved as a passer as some people would have hoped. And remember the Titans do nothing but run the football. D.J. Hackett, Rick Jennings and Mark Clayton are all injured right now. But it doesn’t matter. Go and get these guys, because there is a disgruntled owner who wants to get rid of tem. Or there on your waiver wire. They are going to come back for the fantasy playoffs and that’s when the games matter the most.
Sigmund Bloom: I had to make sure I wasn’t watching a rerun on Sunday in 2004 Cleveland and Cincinnati played a 58-48 shoot out. Now on that one Kelly Holcomb threw the five touchdowns for Cleveland, Steve Heiden caught three of them. But it ended up being there 15 minutes of fantasy fame. So you shouldn’t get too excited about Joe Jurevicious or Derrick Anderson. The game was filled with defensive lapses. As opposed to great offensive pays.
So it is time to trade Jamal Lewis. He shouldn’t approach those numbers for the rest of the year. On the Cincinnati side they are going to be playing shootouts all year, which means you need to get Chris Henry if he is still on your waiver wire. If he stays out of trouble there are huge numbers waiting for him at the end of his eight game suspensions.
The offenses in the Kansas City, Chicago game were just about as bad as the defenses in the Cincinnati, Cleveland game. David Hestor came this close to outscoring both offenses on his own. You should not be fooled by Cedric Bensons 100 yard game. He lacked the power, creativity, and burst you want out of your featured back. He only got big yardage when the holes were refrigerator Perry size. If I was Gary Angelo I would be returning those phone calls from Cory Dylan’s agent. Rex Grossman tried to give this game away with two terrible interceptions in the second half. If he doesn’t bounce back against Dallas this weekend, he is probably not going to help your fantasy team this year. On the Kansas City side, Dwayne Bowe is making his bid o be the number one. He had a touchdown on a flea flicker that was called back due to an incidental penalty. And on the other touchdown that did count. I think that ball might have been intended for Tony Gonzales. But that is fine, because you need my ball mentality to be number 1 in the NFL.
After a dud this week we are looking forward to Monday night football next week. If New Orleans can’t ride the wave of energy that there crowd gives them to a victory. Then something really is wrong in the crescent city. If Vince Young can overcome his tendency to get keyed up on the big stage, then he is ready to be in your fantasy line up every week.
Cecil Lammey: Hey Bloom did you hear the great news about Kevin Everett regaining some movement?
Sigmund Bloom: Yeah best news all week, and we send our best wishes to him and him family as he continues his recovery.
Cecil Lammey: Certainly and thanks to everyone for watching The Five Minute Drill.

<media:text type="html"><![CDATA[The Five Minute Drill
Episode “Week 3 mailbag”

Cecil Lammey: The life blood of or show is you the viewer.
Sigmund Bloom: That’s why this week we went to the football guy’s message boards, so that we could answer the questions that were keeping you up at night.
Cecil Lammey: You know the drill
Male announcer: Its time for fantasy footballs five minute drill. Quarter backed by Cecil Lammey, and Sigmund Bloom.
Cecil Lammey: Superjohn 96 writes; who gets the ball and how well will they do in Houston if Andre Johnson is gone for any significant period of time. Well it has got to be Jacoby Jones here who is Andre Johnson light, not only in terms of size but also in terms of experience. Matt Schaub loves to target this guy for the long pass and that’s what Jacoby does best. He should be on your fantasy radar.
Sigmund Bloom: Lambert wants to know; what do you see for the big three going forward? If you see any of them as buy low candidates what kind of package would you offer for them? Well the outlook for these three ultra talented backs is good. LT has played two of the toughest defenses in the league. Steven Jackson I missing Richie incognito, I one of the best run blockers on the Rams, he will be back in a week or two. And Larry Johnson, well he is on Kansas City, but they are going to get through the tougher part of their schedule by week six.
If you want one of these studs, you need to pack a Jamal Lewis ,or La Monde Jordan, a hot wide receiver and a third player that will help there owner. If Lt is on a 0-2 team, you better make a relentless play for him this week.
Cecil Lammey: Sabertooth writes; Is Lawrence Maroney going to simply be a part of a running back by committee or the top 10 back we were led to believe he’d be? Well yes unfortunately sabertooth he is going to be in a running back by committee. The Patriots are going deep in the playoffs and they want to keep Maroney healthy. They also targeted Sammy Morris earl in free agency, and it is obvious that they are going to use both.
Sigmund Bloom: RonnieBrown23 wants to know; how much of Lee Evans’ awful start has been the opposing defenses, or is it the inability of the Bills o find a compliment for him in the passing game? Well Ronnie I want to know the answer to this question too because Lee Evans’ is on a lot of my fantasy teams. And I am going o say none of the above. The problem I the Bills aren’t being enough creative. To make sure he gets the ball in his hands at least 5 or 6 times a game. He is the number one play maker on their team. But you wouldn’t know it by the way they are using him.
Cecil Lammey: My boy gheemony writes; what the heck is going on with MJD and the Jacksonville offense? Why is it so screwed up? And will it get “fixed” for MJD owners? Well Maurice Jones Drew is clearly the #2 running back in Jacksonville, it s going to be hard for him to duplicate the number that we saw in 2006. As far as the why, it can come down to on man. Coach Carter, brought over from Arizona State, he is known for unimaginative play calling. And also he never makes a halftime adjustment, which shows why he was 2-20 against ranked opponents. Unless something changes it is going to be a bad year for Jacksonville running backs.
Sigmund Bloom: The scientist wants to know, will Marion Barber ever become a feature guy? Is he a consistent starter as a running back #2 option? Ell scientist, Marion Barber may be the feature back, but only in 2008, and only if Darren McFadden is not a cowboy. The team is going to want o us both backs, Wade Philips reiterated that again this week. But as long as that offense is running he Is a good #2 option because the force feed
